I am a woman searching for my inner goddess and using fabrics, words and photography as my road map. I find great comfort and order in my creative efforts and hope that in sharing them you find a peace also. Welcome and Be Blessed!

Awake, A Wake

My stepfather was moved yesterday from the cancer ward of the hospital to a full care nursing home. He died at 3 am this morning. He will find great peace in knowing that he can honestly say he didn't spend a whole day there- sorta like just being there long enough for a nap before his next journey. This journey would take him home. Yes, He has found great peace.

Me, I am searching for my own great peace in all of this today. I will start with a banana, mango, strawberry smoothie with Honduran rum and some Chicago Blues on Pandora. Dan would appreciate that also. Who knows how far down the line that will take me. My family always believed that what one drink didn't cure a second or maybe a third would surely take care of. I might put that thought to the test today so in honor of two parents who loved me to the best of their abilities I will have my own personal wake today. Tomorrow, I will once again pull up those big girl panties and move on down the road for the next part of my own journey. Today is for Marilyn aka. Maxine and Dan Weatherly reunited once again.

Red Queen's Mission Statement

I believe that things can always be cured with a hug and a cup of tea, fixed with either a needle and thread, duct tape, WD40 or coke, and that prayer works every time. I take in strays whether in animal or childlike form. I have been mother to many for a time and this is my way of keeping up with some of those straying children that I miss. I appreciate shock value and use it often to remind people that the world is round and colorful and we are not all living in square brown cardboard boxes with little holes cut in for windows. Look for the warm fuzzies- God delivers them up fresh every day just to say- I think you are pretty darned special- so special that I have your picture up on my fridge for life and I am sending you a hug to remind you that you matter to me.
