I am a woman searching for my inner goddess and using fabrics, words and photography as my road map. I find great comfort and order in my creative efforts and hope that in sharing them you find a peace also. Welcome and Be Blessed!

Onward and Upward- or Go Jenn Go

The victory of success is half won when one gains the habit of setting goals and achieving them. Even the most tedious chore will become endurable as you parade through each day convinced that every task, no matter how menial or boring, brings you closer to fulfilling your dreams. ~Og Mandino

I am in Ipswich Mass. helping the daughter move out of her apartment and into a storage room. Two rooms of apartment sorted down and packed tight into one 5 X 10 foot space complete with lock and coded gate, and fee much smaller then the apartment rent.

The daughter is moving onward. Spring brings vernal pools. Vernal pools bring out special critters and pond type muck and stuffs and the daughter thrives with such. Thrives so much someone hired her to come and be the vernal pool researcher and specialist. Sadly vernal pools are short lived and so is this job but for the next 4 months my daughter will be in researcher heaven and despite long hours and visiting 100 vernal pools to collect samples and then returning to gather said samples. She is looking at what forms of critters live there and what types of chemicals are showing up there. Jenn will be working on things she loves and continuing to learn and grow.

Today is spent doing those menial tasks that only Mothers show up to help with- scrubbing walls and toilets, cleaning out and on top of cabinets, mopping floors, washing down everything that says " I better be spotless if you want your rent deposit returned". I will work today with a smile knowing that this process is bringing my daughter a step closer to fulfilling her dreams. I will also be smiling because I know that soon my job will be over here and I will be headed back to W. PA where I can work on more quilting and that will bring me closer to fulfilling my dreams.

Lest you think this trip was only about packing and cleaning I must confess that I went to one of the most amazing used book stores on the planet and found a quilt shop to visit. Also we have discovered some pretty great food to sink teeth into- can you say hot buffalo chicken finger calzone, or homemade coffee Oreo ice cream and today I am promised incredible true New England Clam chowda, and later some most delicious tiramisu. Life is good- bring it on! Be Blessed!

Red Queen's Mission Statement

I believe that things can always be cured with a hug and a cup of tea, fixed with either a needle and thread, duct tape, WD40 or coke, and that prayer works every time. I take in strays whether in animal or childlike form. I have been mother to many for a time and this is my way of keeping up with some of those straying children that I miss. I appreciate shock value and use it often to remind people that the world is round and colorful and we are not all living in square brown cardboard boxes with little holes cut in for windows. Look for the warm fuzzies- God delivers them up fresh every day just to say- I think you are pretty darned special- so special that I have your picture up on my fridge for life and I am sending you a hug to remind you that you matter to me.
